Mystery of Vor Shelath
The creation of the Stone Ward was an accident of geography and destitution. Viewed as unfit for habitation, but too vulnerable to be left along, a spur of Vor Shelath’s cliffs were cut off from the city proper and the Cadelands by the city’s outer walls. Outposts were constructed to guard the spur, and it was thought the land would remain barren.
However, some of the residents of the Cadelands quickly recognized the advantage of being safely ensconced behind the city’s walls, especially on the other side of the Dragon’s Ward. Makeshift structures sprung up, and it was not long before the entire spur had been converted to a shanty town.
The Garda do not patrol here as vigorously as other wards, and in many ways the conditions for those in the Stone Ward are worse than those who live in the Cadelands. Instead of vigilance committees, the Stone Ward is ruled by gangs, and notions of justice have found little purchase here.
