Mystery of Vor Shelath
Vor Shelath’s treasury is built into the cliff side of the harbor, spanning all three stories. A giant decorative keyhole graces its exterior, giving Vor Shelath one of its most prominent landmarks.
Unlike other cliff side locations, there are no ramps or passages to the Lock’s entrance. Access is only available through a lift, tightly controlled by town guards. In order for anyone to visit the Lock, they must present written approval from the Chief Magistrate. Despite (or, perhaps, because of) the hassle of even getting through the door, many wealthy citizens store their wealth in one of the Lock’s private vaults.
The Lock is rumored to have been carved out of Vor Shelath’s vast sewer system. Tales talk of a giant metal box, suspended by pillars in an even larger cavern, with guards surrounding it from every conceivable angle. It is believed there may be an alternate entrance from the Citadel, which sits directly above it. Other rumors state that there are secret entrances into the Lock from the undercity proper, used to evacuate the Lock’s contents in the event of a siege. Still others say that the vault itself is guarded by five wards, one for each head of the Chromatic Dragon.
