Mystery of Vor Shelath
Council of Seven
Vor Shelath is ruled by an oligarchy comprised by the heads of its noble houses, called the Council. There are currently six houses granted a seat on the Council; House Aritriea, House Chymer, House Fainth, House Karadath, House Marlson, and House Nihlas. One house is elected by the body to head the council, and it appoints a second house to serve as its deputy, an advisory role that also grooms the house for future leadership of the city. An additional seat is given to the Populum, a representative elected by the citizenry. The Populum cannot head the council or be appointed as deputy, and it may only vote in the event of a tie. Despite these limitations, with the support of the citizens behind it, the Populum can be a formidable political force, one the council head pays great attention to.
